ALBERTO'S STORY
I was born in the city of Cadiz in southern Spain on April 5, 1969. Raised in a family with deep religious convictions, I immediately felt called to the spiritual life. My greatest dream at that time was to be a priest in the Catholic Church, the only spiritual source that I knew then.
The awakening of adolescence, along with certain incongruities that the Catholic philosophy could not adequately explain, made me lose my desire and calling for such a future. To do something practical with my life, I completed my pre-university studies and enrolled in courses dealing with illustration, sculpture and painting to improve my natural artistic abilities, to which I dedicate myself to today, along with other courses in administration and technology. Thanks to those latter courses, I began to work as an administrator in the insurance industry, where I was immersed for seven years.
Although my work provided me with economic security and a comfortable life, I felt unhappy. I had abandoned my dedication to my art due to the lack of time. My discontent grew and reached such a point of desperation that I knew without a doubt I needed to change my life. It was then, in July of 1997, that a book providentially arrived into my hands that would greatly influence my path. The philosophy and advice of the book You Can Heal Your Life by Louise L. Hay left a deep impression on me and, combined with my intense and unstoppable desire to improve my life, worked within me a miraculous change in only a matter of weeks. That marked the beginning of my conscious spiritual journey. Many more books of similar ideologies and themes followed, responding to a thirst for knowledge about myself and the world in which I lived that I had never experienced before.
That wondrous time also helped me rediscover God, the all-powerful universal Intelligence of which we are all a part and whose essence is Love. After months of studying and practicing this new knowledge, I began to perceive synchronicities and magi-cal coincidences in my life and in the lives of others around me. I also began to have my first experiences with signs, messages that arrived to me via my intuition and that guided me on my spiritual path. As a result of all this, I made various significant decisions which included leaving my work, my wife, my family and friends, and embarking on a new adventure with no return in search of a life with meaning. Shortly after, in April of 2000, I made my first pilgrimage to the Camino de Santiago (Path of St. James).
The Camino opened the doors for me to live my new beliefs in a new environment, one that was filled with infinite possibilities. I saw that just by being myself, by speaking my truth, I could positively influence the lives of others, independent of their language, culture or social circumstances. After that remarkable experience, I decided to dedicate my life to collaborate with the Divine Plan that I was starting to glimpse - the evolution of consciousness. One year later, I met Mony in Finisterre, the ancestral end of the world in northern Spain. That meeting provided me the unique opportunity to fulfill my promise on a grander scale and to continue growing spiritually in a new world that was grander than any I had known before. Neither my promise nor my path ended in Jerusalem, but rather continue being the principal guiding forces in my life.
